COLORADO DEPARTMENT OF HEALTH, Water Quality Control Division
Rationale - Page 3. Permit No. CO-0000396
DISCUSSION:
1. Total Recoverable Metals
By federal register of September 26, 1984, EPA now allows the use of total
recoverable metals effluent limitations in permits. Such limitations are
no more restrictive than total metals limitations, and may be less
restrictive. This change will not alter the sampling and sample
preservation technique, but does warrant a change in the analytical
procedure. It is therefore, important that the permittee alert its
laboratory to this change. Water quality based iron limitations in this
permit will be expressed as "total recoverable" iron.
Jon C. Kubic
March 2, 1987
