series at Outfall 001.
Chapter IV
The 016 ponds receive flows from the mine; the 020 and 001 ponds
receive mine flows from the water treatment plant.
Solids
The solids which have been removed from the mine flow by the
underground sizing screen are conveyed from the tunnel to the raw
coal storage pile. Raw coal, in turn, goes to the coal preparation
plant cycle, wherein coal is separated from non -coal refuse. The
coal is transported from the mine property for sale. The refuse is
conveyed to the approved refuse pile, which is referred to as the
"Sutey refuse pile."
The underflow from the recycle sump /hydroclone reports to the
preparation plant cycle, in which coal is separated from non -coal
refuse, and the refuse conveyed to the refuse pile; or, to the 001
ponds, from which it is removed in normal pond cleaning.
The solids from the 020 pond are removed, as necessary, and
disposed at the refuse pile. The solids from the 016 ponds are
removed, as necessary, and disposed on the rock tunnel refuse pile
or the Sutey refuse pile.
25(b)
