HYDROLOGIC FEATURES OF THE EAST MUDDY CREEK DRAINAGE <br /> Hydrologic Features <br /> The federal lease area on the west side of Huntsman Ridge is <br /> drained by a series of small streams that flow into the <br /> Clear Fork of East Muddy and into East Muddy Creek itself. <br /> Drainage is in a west to southwest direction. Primary <br /> streams draining the lease area are from north to south, <br /> Second Creek, North Twin Creek, South Twin Creek, Rock Creek, <br /> Gooseberry Creek, Deadhorse Creek, Coal Creek, Hendersen <br /> Creek, Spring Creek, Roberts Creek, Drift Creek and Lee Creek. <br /> All creeks are ephemeral in the lease area, but become <br /> perennial down gradient . Hendersen Spring, Roberts Drift <br /> and Lee Creeks flow directly into the East Muddy, while the <br /> rest flow into the Clear Fork of the East Muddy. Table 783 . 16-10 , <br /> East Muddy Basin Drainage Data, tabulates the streams , their <br /> drainage basin size and mean basin elevations . <br /> Two small ponds occur within the lease area; these are 'Located <br /> in northern most portion of the lease at the head of Second <br /> Creek and in the SE 4f NW4i of Sec 29, T . 10S . , R. 89W. <br /> Numerous ponds and lakes exist within the mire plan adjacent <br /> area to the east and west of the lease areas . A review of <br /> the topographic map, aerial photographs and regional conditions <br /> indicate that these lakes are probably a result of landslide <br /> topography. The geologic conditions consist of a dip slope <br /> topography, where the bedrock units dip in approximately the <br /> same direction as the ,ground surface .
