Ground Water Use
There are no wells penetrating the Mesaverde within the
mine plan or adjacent area. Because of the westward dip of
the formation into the Piceance Creek Basin, the Mesaverde
is generally too deep to be accessible for water wells
throughout the area west of the mine .
