GROUND WATER INFORMATION - MESAVERDE FORMATION
In 1959, Mid-Continent Resources undertook a drilling program
to determine coal reserves in the lease area west of Huntsman
Ridge; twelve bore holes were drilled into the Rollins
sandstone. The locations of the bore holes are shown on
Plate III, Coal Basin Mine. Lithologic 'Logs of these borings
were made, describing the units encountered but no specific
log was made of water bearing sand intervals . Notations were
made at the top of each log regarding if water was encountered.
Table 783 . 15-2 summarizes these logs, giving the depths to
and elevations of the major sandstone units and listing the
notations on ground water encountered.
