The required renewal fee of $257.00 for the plan
year has been paid under receipt number 3652644.
PLAN OF OPERATION
The Fountain Pit site is located in Section 13, Township 16 South, Range 66 West in El
Paso County. You state that the site will be mined above the water table, and the material will not
be washed. According to your submission, the only exposed water surface at the site will be a
small storage pond (approximately 100 feet by 100 feet, or 0.2 acre) that will be supplied with water
from an offsite source, which is an existing sump with well permit no. 59834 -F (WDID 1005198).
Well permit no. 59834 -F lies within 100 feet of Rock Creek and the depletions are considered
instantaneous for the approval of this plan period.
DEPLETIONS
According to the submittal, the only consumptive uses of water are from dust control, which
you have estimated to be approximately 3.5 acre -feet per year, and from evaporation from the
storage pond, estimated to be 0.67 acre -feet per year. The total of 4.17 acre -feet per year would
be withdrawn from well permit no. 59834 -F and piped approximately one mile to the storage pond.
The mining depletions are considered instantaneous to the stream and shall be replaced
accordingly.
The instantaneous depletion consideration is only valid for pumping from the sump and
does not allow for use of storm water that may collect in on -site pits. Storm water must percolate
into the ground within 72 hours or otherwise be pumped out of any impoundment so it may enter
Office of the State Engineer r" (D ,,—)
1313 Sherman Street, Suite 818 • Denver, CO 80203 • Phone: 303 -866 -3581 • Fax: 303 - 866 -3589
http: / /water.state.co.us
