From: Julie Mikulas fmailto: Julie .Mikulas@amartinmarietta.coml
Sent: Monday, April 30, 2012 2:49 PM
To: Williams, Joanna
Subject: RE: Example share dedication
We just had inspections on aggregate properties that we acquired from Lafarge. The Division of Reclamation Mining and
Safety cited us with an issue because they have no evidence that the new operator has a valid well permit, substitute
supply plan, or approved water augmentation plan. We assumed all of the well permits in the closing documents and
acquired the water rights associated with the substitute supply plans for the sites. The SEO approved the Lafarge
substitute supply plans through 10/31/12. I noticed that Lafarge submitted a letter similar to what you had
attached. Are those still valid or do we need to reapply or resubmit with Martin Marietta Materials on them?
From: Williams, Joanna fmailto :Joanna.Williams(astate.co.usl
Sent: Monday, April 30, 2012 2:34 PM
To: Julie Mikulas
Cc: Hernandez, Jonathan
Subject: Example share dedication
Good Afternoon Julie,
As we discussed on the phone attached is an example share dedication for a gravel pit. In addition to this dedication we
would also need an engineering analysis showing that the dedicated shares are adequate to replace all depletions that
would occur at the site during the term of the Substitute Water Supply plan should all of the ponds be allowed to fill
(maximum potential evaporation).
Please let me know if you have any questions.
Thanks
Joanna Williams, P.E.
Colorado Division of Water Resources
1313 Sherman Street, Room 818
Denver, CO 80203
Phone: 303 - 866 -3581 ext:8265
Fax: 303 - 866 -3589
Please complete our new DWR User Experience Survey on our DWR Homepage to express your opinions of our
service.
