Box 187
Craig, Colorado 81626
RE: Trapper Mine; DRMS Permit No. C- 1981 -010
Semi - annual Geotechnical Monitoring Report —March 2012
Dear Ms. Perkins,
The Colorado Division of Reclamation, Mining, and Safety (Division) has reviewed the Semi - annual
Geotechnical Monitoring Report (GMR) for the Trapper Mine that is dated March 30, 2012. It was
received by the Division on April 30, 2012.
One issue was noted for the piezometers at Station IN -8, the pressures recorded at the "M" level (blue line)
are lower than the pressures reported for the "L" level. Table 1 from the September 2011 GMR gives
depths of 142 feet and 59 feet for the IN -8 piezometers. Presumably the M installation is the deeper of the
two, which should result in higher pore pressures being measured for that piezometer. Please review the
piezometer data for IN -8 and revise if appropriate.
If you have any questions please feel free to contact me at (303) 866 -3567 ext. 8120.
Sincerely,
Jared Ebert
Environmental Protection Specialist
Office of Office of
Mined Land Reclamation Denver • Grand Junction • Durango Active and Inactive Mines
