EXHIBIT G — Water Information
The site is currently an irrigated field surrounded on all sides by irrigated fields. There are active
irrigation ditches on the south, east and north of the property. The field to the west of the
property, which is also owned by the applicant, is irrigated from the same concrete ditch on the
south that irrigates the subject property. A tail water ditch at the bottom (north) side of these two
fields collects irrigation run -off and carries it west to an existing waste water ditch at the
northwest corner of the west field, which takes it to the Gunnison River. This tail water ditch
will be used to take water from de- watering operations to the river. A sediment pond will be
established on the property along this tail water ditch to remove sediment before clean overflow
goes down the ditch to the river. This is indicated on Exhibit C — Mining Plan Map. Once the
pit is excavated to the bottom and opened up enough, a settling pond will be established on the
pit floor. Dewatering the pit in this manner is not expected to adversely affect any existing water
courses or structures. None of the irrigation ditches on adjacent properties will be affected by
this operation.
The Gunnison River lies approximately 1/2 mile to the north and will not be affected by this
operation.
The site will be graded to collect any storm water in the pit area to be settled and discharged with
the normal de- watering operations to comply with water quality discharge permits. After mining
and reclamation is complete, there will be no discharge from the resulting pond.
Estimates of water requirements and source of water for the operation during mining and after
reclamation are included in the attached Plan for Augmentation which has been submitted to the
Colorado Division of Water Resources (DWR). The operator has ample senior water rights to
cover uses during and after operation as indicated in the deed to this property and the
Augmentation Plan. Consumptive loss will be greater due to evaporation when mining is
complete. The operator will not expose ground water until the Substitute Water Supply Plan has
been approved by DWR or the Augmentation Plan has been approved by the Water Court.
The operator has applied for an NPDES Permit from the Water Quality Control Division of the
Colorado Department of Health and will not discharge any water from this site until it is
obtained.
Warren Pit 2012
