Mr. Jim Herron December 30, 1983 Page 2
008 GARAGE 0. 71 ACRES. This system of two ponds was enlarged
in October, 1983 when the new No. 2 Mine stockpile conveyor was
constructed. The pond is larger than legally required, but due
to its close proximity to the stockpile it was deemed prudent to
increase its volume.
009 BATH 3. 08 ACRES. The spillway was completed on this pond -
in 1983 . Due to its large size this pond system (007-009) did
not discharge in 1983 . -
O10 VIAREHOUSE 0. 18 ACRES. An access road was constructed along
the east side of this pond in 1983 to better facilitate cleaning.
This road will be extended across the dam portion of the pond for
better access. This pond will be enlarged to its design capacity
in 1984.
011 SAVAGE (M.K. ) 0. 51 ACRES. This pond was enlarged in 1983
and will be enlarged again in 1984 , as it still lacks some 0.13
acre to reach design capacity. This pond is in series with 001.
The combined capacity of the two ponds exceeds the original
design capacity.
012 ARCTIC 0. 23 ACRES. These ponds are functioning well since
the addition of road culvert diverting the road runoff away from
them.
013 NO. 4 MINE. (Temporarily closed. ) This pond was not sur-
veyed because it was inaccessible (road sloughage) at the time of
the physical survey. It will be surveyed in 1984. The pond was
inspected in 1983 and is in good working condition. To my knowl-
edge this pond has never discharged.
014 NO. 3 MINE N. 0. 51 ACRES. , (Temporarily closed. ) We have no
record of this pond ever having discharged.
015 NO. 3 MINE S: 0. 37 ACRES. We have no record of this pond
ever discharging.
016 TUNNEL 1 . 68 ACRES (1 of 3. ) The second of three ponds
designed for this location is scheduled for construction in 1984'.
The third pond is scheduled for construction in 1985 which, when
completed, will complete this system.
017 NO. 5 ITINE 1 . 50 ACRES . (Temporarily closed. ) This pond is
functioning well .
018 N0. 1 SINE 3 . 0 ACRES . These ponds are functioning well and
in 1984 will again be the source of some of our dust suppression
water for the roads in the area.
3
