At the end of the mine life, anticipated at post-2020, the following plan will be put into <br /> effect: <br /> — All structures removed and the area backfilled, graded <br /> and compacted to stabilize the disturbed area. <br /> — Topsoil is redistributed to an approved depth. <br /> — Topsoil samples are taken to determine which <br /> amendments may need to be added to enhance growth. <br /> — An approved seed mix is planted, either by hand <br /> broadcsting drill seeding or hydro-mulching. <br /> — Tests are performed later to determine the success of <br /> revegetation. <br /> — After the area has been deemed successfully <br /> revegetated, site drainage structures are removed. <br /> Postmining Land Use <br /> Post-mining land use of the Coal Basin includes continuation of the pre-mining and <br /> current uses as grazing land and wildlife habitat, with present areas of surface <br /> disturbance utilizes for those puposes. <br /> In addition, the Land and Resource Management Plan of the White River National <br /> Forest has designated the area for management as follows: <br /> 1 B - Management Area - Management emphasis <br /> provides for downhill or cross-country skiing on existing <br /> sites and maintains selected inventoried sites for future <br /> skiing recreation opportunities. <br /> 16 <br />
