MINING PLAN EXHIBIT D (CONT)
An estimate of water needs for the mine is outlined in
EXHIBIT G - WATER . The water used at the mine will be for dust
control at the plant and on internal haul roads. On a typical
operation of this type 3 to 8 ac -ft per year is used. Typically
in a crushed rock operation the material mined has little or no
moisture content due to the nature of the rock. Most of the
precipitation that falls on the site will be absorbed by the
finer material before it can runoff the site. Some infiltrate
will occur into the underlying strata. Ponding is expected to be
minimal on the mine floor as the water will soak into the ground.
Water used at the site will be for dust control only and no
material washing will take place. Water used on the mine will be
hauled to the site from outside adjudicated sources. Initially,
we will purchase the water from the Town of Trinidad until a
closer source can be found. There will be no evaporative loss
off lakes since this is a dry mine, see EXHIBIT G .
The use of explosives will be needed at this mine to break
the rock up prior to processing. Tamrock Gravel LLC., will
contract with a Blasting Contractor to supervise the drilling and
blasting according to state standards. A blasting plan, based on
state standards, will be prepared for the mine site by the
contractor and will be followed. The plan will consider the
natural gasline that crosses the property. The gas company will
be consulted to determine acceptable vibrations levels and
distances needed to protect the line during mining. The use of
delays, hole spacing, stemming and charge size will be employed
to keep the peak particle velocities at or below state standards
at the property lines. Records of each blasting event will be
kept in the company records and available for review upon re-
quest. The information will include, time, date, weather condi-
tions and a sketch of the hole layout. The number of holes in
each shot, the depth of the holes, powder charge data, delay
timing, the number of strings, packing depth and packing material
will be listed in the report. A portable seismograph will be use
for each shot to monitor ground vibrations on the site, if
available. Portable powder magazines may be used to store
blasting material during setup for a shot but no blasting agent
will be stored on the site except as needed the day of the shot.
1 0
