Box 1298
Glenwood Springs, CO 81602
RE: Maintenance of Sediment Ponds
Mid Continent Rrsoumes,CDPS Permit No. CO-0000396
Pitkin County
Dear Ms Delaney_
I have reviewed your letter of June 28, 1995. It is my understanding, from your letter, that N id-
Continent Resources has concluded that none of the ponds require immediate clean-out. You did
make mention of the possible cleaning of the Sutey pile(outfall 021) and the'upper Bus Garage
Ponds (outfall 008) Iater in the year,
The Division believes that it is Mid Continent's responsibility to main the ponds so that effluent
limitations are met. It is up to Mid-Continent to determine what measures are necessary to
maintain compliance and, therefore, when the ponds will be cleaned-out. Recent inspections by
the Division of Minerals and Geology has show that the Sutey Pile, Upper Sutey pond and the
upper Bus Garage Ponds are in need of cleaning. We recommend that Mid-Continent Resources
take whatever measures are necessary to maintain compliance.
Please contact me with any questions at(303) 692-3608.
Sincerely,
-t-dLJ ar
Patricia A.
