The interpretation of this additional acreage
was based on the available hardcopy information CDRMS provided BLM and not detailed survey
data for this proposal. BLM's cadastral survey determined from their review that the land surveys
have potential problems within this additional acreage proposal. There are numerous overlapping
mineral surveys. in the vicinity dating back to the 1870's, most of which have been patented.
However, because some of these mineral surveys never went to patent and federally owned lands still
exist outside of the patented lodes, there is a probability of public land within the mine's proposed
increase of the existing permit boundary.
BLM is requesting that the applicant coordinate with the Royal Gorge Field Office regarding this
issue, prior to CDRMS issuing a decision on this amendment application.
Please contact Stephanie Carter at (719) 269 -8551 with any questions you may have concerning the
issues in this letter.
Sincerely,
Keith E.
