MACHINERY & EQUIPMENT CO., INC.
P.O. Box 7632 • San Francisco, CA 94120 U.S.A.
(415) 467-3400 • FAX (415) 467-2639
August 4, 1993
State of Colorado
Division of Minerals and Geology
1313 Sherman St. , Room 215 3
Denver, CO 80203 AUG 91993
Attn: Steven G. Renner
Coal Program Supervisor
FAX #: 303-832-8106
Dear Steve:
As we previously promised, I am sending with this fax an itemized
list of the main items of equipment at the dust plant in
Carbondale, Colorado.
Along with the descriptions of the equipment we have indicated
dollar amounts that we feel we can net the MLRD upon the sale of
each piece of equipment. These monies would be again on a net
basis which takes into consideration our compensation as well as
excluding all costs such as marketing, dismantling, transportation,
etc.
Our net prices to you indicated on the attachment are generally
speaking 80% of the current fair market value. We define fair
market value as a reasonable price that this equipment would bring
on the open market giving a willing buyer and an equally willing
seller. This evaluation also considers current market conditions
for the equipment, marketability of this particular type of
equipment and considers its condition, design technology and to
some extent other intangibles such as local economy, health of the
industry, etc.
Our basis of evaluation also rests on our regular and frequent
contacts with other mining and minerals processing equipment
companies, our relationships with design and engineering companies,
our contacts with equipment vendors in regard to current new costs
and our historical track record in the resale of this type of
equipment.
As we also discussed we are currently discussing the plant with two
potential purchasers of the equipment in a one lot package. We
will continue our marketing efforts and keep you advised as best as
possible as to their level of interest and whether or not a
bonafide offer is forthcoming.
