Page 2 of 2 <br />3. Under the heading "For Government Performance and Results Act" the acreage in long- <br />term mining or reclamation facilities is listed as 476.52 acres. The acreage in active mining <br />areas is listed as 270.00 acres (for the Main Mine Site and Sylvester Gulch). The acreage <br />in active mining category should also include other support facilities, such as methane <br />degas wells, vent shafts and associated roads. Please review the acreage totals listed under <br />the heading "For Government Performance and Results Act" and correct the acreages as <br />necessary. Please provide a revised copy of the Annual Reclamation Report form to the <br />Division for review and inclusion in the 2011 ARR. <br />4. In the 2011 ARR, West Elk included a copy of the 2011 drilling and reclamation maps. <br />These maps appear to be correct and accurate. The Division does not have any questions or <br />comments regarding these maps. <br />5. In the 2011 ARR, West Elk included a copy of an invoice for a reclamation seed mix from <br />Granite Seed. The seed mix was for US Forest Service lands. The approved seed mix for <br />the Paonia Ranger District USFS lands) is shown in Table 39A, on permit page 2.05 -55. <br />The grass seed species and seed quantities listed on the Granite Seed invoice matched the <br />seed species and quantities listed in Table 39A. Additionally, the seed mix in Table 39A <br />states that three forbs will be added to the seed mix and includes a list of 11 possible forbs <br />to choose from. The invoice from Granite Seed included three of the forbs from the list in <br />Table 39A. Based on the Granite Seed invoice, the seed mix used for the 2011 reclamation <br />appears to be correct. The Division does not have any questions or comments regarding <br />the seed mix used for the 2011 reclamation or the Granite Seed invoice contained in the <br />West Elk 2011 ARR. <br />This completes the Division's review of the 2011 Annual Reclamation Report for the West Elk <br />Mine.
