disc plowing the topsoil and subgrade together, a practice typically used by commercial
landscapers.
(6) Topsoil substitute if existing topsoil is of insufficient quantity or of poor
quality for sustaining vegetation, and if other materials can be shown to be more
suitable for vegetation requirements, then the Operator shall remove, segregate, and
preserve in a like manner such other materials which are best able to support
vegetation.
Excess topsoil exists on site to complete reclamation requirements. (Please see the NRCS soil
report attached)
(7) When growing media is replaced, it shall be done in as even a manner as
possible. Fertilizer or other soil amendments shall be added dependent on soils test
or if required in the reclamation plan.
Topsoil will be replaced to an average depth of between 4 to 8 inches. The Reclamation Plan has been designed for site
stabilization and erosion control. The degree of vegetative cover will be adequate to stabilize the
site and control erosion. The species selected for site reclamation will ensure site stabilization,
will not require continued irrigation or soil amendments, and are appropriate for the post mining
land use.
(2) If the Operator's choice of reclamation is forest planting, they may, with the
approval of the department, select the type of trees to be planted.
No trees shall be planted
(3) If the Operator's choice of reclamation is for range, the land shall be
restored to slopes commensurate with the proposed land use and shall not be too
steep to be traversed by livestock.
The rangeland will generally consist of 31-1:1V or less slopes.
