April 16, 2012 C- 1982- 056/Foidel Creek Mine JDM <br />-The culvert at the intersection of the explosives area access road was damaged at the inlet during the March 2012 <br />inspection. This culvert has been repaired. <br />-The culvert located to the north of the ROM stockpile and behind the vent fan was 3 /4 full of sediment at the inlet <br />during the March 2012 inspection. This maintenance item has been addressed. <br />GENERAL MINE PLAN COMPLANCE: <br />The longwall move from panels 17LT to 16LT continues as of the date of this inspection. Concrete pumping at <br />the 16LT borehole has concluded. Reclamation activities are on -going at the Fish Creek Tipple site with topsoil <br />redistribution and drainage control activities. No coal trains were observed during the inspection. <br />OTHER (SPECIFY): <br />This was a partial inspection of the Foidel Creek Mine conducted by Jason Musick of CDRMS. Brian Watterson <br />of TCC accompanied the inspection. The weather was clear and the ground was partially dry at the time of the <br />inspection. <br />PROCESSING WASTE /COAL MINE WASTE PILES — Rule 4.10 and 4.11 <br />Drainage Control; Surface Stabilization; Placement: <br />Refuse material continues to be placed in the RDA expansion area. Grading activities were active at the time of <br />the inspection. No stockpiled material was observed at the time of the inspection. The RDA was well compacted <br />and stable at the time of the inspection. The refuse material had not yet reached the head of the under -drain of the <br />RDA. The exposed under -drain was stable and constructed as designed. <br />RDA Expansion Area <br />ROADS — Rule 4.03 Construction 4.03.1(3)/4.03.2(3) Drainage 4.03.1(4)/4.03.2(4) Surfacing and <br />Maintenance4.03.1(5) and (6)/4.03.2(5) and (6) Reclamation 4.03.1(7)/4.03.2(7): <br />Roads throughout the mine site were dry and stable at the time of the inspection. During the March 2012 <br />inspection, maintenance items were noted due to the heavy truck activity and snowmelt along the 16LT borehole <br />road. The drainage issues have been addressed with all berms repaired and the road adequately graded and stable <br />at the time of the inspection. Minor Revision No. 60 has been approved and will increase the disturbance corridor <br />of the road from 40 feet to 75 feet to allow truck turnouts and additional drainage control. <br />Number of Partial Inspection this Fiscal Year: 9 <br />Number of Complete Inspections this Fiscal Year: 3 <br />Page 4 of 6 <br />
