The following is a summary <br /> of negative criteria for determining prime farmlands for each <br /> soil mapping unit. <br /> PERSAYO SANDY CLAY LOAM - UNIT #r9904, 10-20o SLOPES. The Persayo <br /> soil map unit is not designated prime farmland by the USDA Soil <br /> Conservation Service. This soil occupies landscape positions of <br /> less than 4 hectares (10 acres) per single tract and occurs on <br /> slopes greater than 10 percent. The soil moisture regime is <br /> torric and precipitation is less than 35 cm (14 inches) . These <br /> moderately steep soils are neither irrigated nor subirrigated. <br /> The soil profile depth is less than 1 meter (40 inches) and the <br /> pH often exceeds 7.4 in surface and subsoil horizons. The per- <br /> cent sloj_v times "K" (erodibility factor from the Universal Soil <br /> Loss Equatit01) ;is -'Treater than 2.0. <br />
