Please provide two vertical hydrogeologic cross - sections, with one section showing conditions
immediately after drilling, and one section showing conditions five years after drilling, and both
sections:
a) Have the same scale, which is a scale sufficient to show all features,
b) Are drawn along the same line of section,
c) Are drawn along a line of section that extends through the borehole that will be located
farthest down the groundwater hydraulic gradient in the prospect area,
d) Are drawn along a line of section that is oriented parallel to the direction of groundwater
flow,
e) Show the predicted invasion profile of drilling fluid in the stratigraphic interval that extends
from 50 feet above to 50 feet below the under - reamed zone,
f) Show the potentiometric surface of the under - reamed zone,
g) Show stratigraphic units (with labels or identified in a legend), and
h) Show (either by shading or pattern) the water quality in the invaded zone and in the
formations within 500 feet of the borehole (with the water quality identified either by labels
or in a legend).
Please provide an explanation of the methodology used for predicting groundwater quality,
including any assumptions made regarding: pre - drilling groundwater quality, hydraulic gradient,
Office of Office of
Denver • Grand Junction • Durango Active and Inactive Mines
