Channel Factor Channel AA-BB
Q 33.2 cfs
Z (side slopes) 5:1
Shape Trapezoidal
n 0.030
Limiting Velocity 5.0 fps
Slope 0.032 ft/ft
Results
Normal Depth (dn) 0.28 ft
Flow velocity 3.72 fps
Channel width 30 ft
Results
Based on the above results, the reclaimed drainage channel will be a trapezoidal channel
with a minimum bottom width of 30 feet and 5h:ly or flatter side slopes. This typical
section will be used for the entire channel reach. This will insure that the velocity
will be below the limiting velocity of 5.0 fps, since the peak flow was determined at the
downstream end of the reclaimed drainage channel. The minimum depth of the drainage
channel will be at least 1.5 feet to insure over 1.0 feet of freeboard (dn = 0.28 ft).
The reclaimed drainage channel will be topsoiled and revegetated according to Tabs 21 and
22, respectively.
