GW-N13(WN0013)
Construction Details :
Additional Details Continued:
Cement mixture used for the plug above the packer/basket arrangement on all
Dakota Coal Underburden wells consisted of the following: 2'/2 bags (235 lbs)
Type V (sulfate resistant) cement, 1/4 bag (12.5 lbs) bentonite, and 15 gallons
water (plus or minus to obtain a "thick, frosting-like" consistency). This
mixture was tremmied to within 5 feet of the packer/basket arrangement via
a 1 " id galvanized metal pipe. PCC's air-driven portable grout machine (stored
at the Seneca II Mine) powered by the drill rigs air compressor was used to
pump the cement. The cement used for the five foot surface seal was regular
Type II Portland cement.
15-2-3i
Revised 11/01/86
