As you probably know, there is the small slump at the
RPE that needs to be repaired. Also, we discussed the permanent pool elevation at ponds that have a gated discharge pipe
that extends below the water surface (generally). The issue is that there is a permanent pool elevation that the ponds need
to be discharged to, or below, to ensure proper pond volume and function. This level should be marked on each pond that
has this gated discharge pipe (we only looked at the RPE pond, SG -1 and MB -5E). The mark could be as simple as a line
painted on the pond liner or a piece of rebar (or roof bolt) driven into the pond and painted with the elevation. Other than
that, everything looked good. Please let me know if you have any questions or comments regarding this report. Thanks.
James R Stark
Environmental Protection Specialist
Colorado Department of Natural Resources
Division of Reclamation, Mining and Safety
(303) 866 -3567 X8145
www.mining.state.co.us
