Pacific aster (Native)
Chokecherry (Native)
Serviceberry (Native)
Mountain snowberry (Native)
Antelope bitterbrush (Native)
Total PLS
0.10
1.0
0.50
0.50
1.0
18.5 (double for broadcast seeding)
The rangeland seed mixture has been used to seed disturbance areas at the Seneca II and
Yoast mines. It lends itself to rapid and long -term surface stabilization, ease of
establishment, maximum use of native species, high levels of utility for livestock and
wildlife, good forage production potential, compatibility with naturally regenerating native
species present in replaced topsoil and the ability to be self - sustaining. CPW has requested
that PSCM add Mountain Big Sagebrush (Artemisia tridentate Ssp. vaseyana) in the
rangeland seed mixture (0.25 PLS /acre). PSCM will discuss this request with each surface
owner.
The seed mixtures PSCM proposes to use on the private surface have previously been
approved by the surface estate owners under access agreement negotiated as part of the 2008
exploration program (approved under X- 2009 - 229 -01).
Threatened or Endangered Species
Review by the CPW did not identify any potentially impacted Threatened or Endangered
(T &E) species or associated habitats requiring avoidance or specific mitigation measures.
CPW's consultation will be provided as soon as it is received by PSCM.
The exploration and reclamation activities will not jeopardize the continued existence of an
endangered or threatened species listed pursuant to Section 4 of the Endangered Species Act
of 1973 (16 U.S.C. 1533) or the Nongame, Endangered or Threatened Species Conservation
Act (Section 33 -8 -101 et. seq. C.R.S.) or result in the destruction or adverse modification of
critical habitat of those species.
Confidential Materials
PSCM has not requested that any material in this Exploration NOI be considered
confidential.
PSCM 2012 NOI 21 April 2012
