PSCM proposes to drill and sample nine (9) core
holes and rotary drill two (2) additional holes for a total of eleven (11) holes drilled during the
program. Only five (5) of the holes will be located outside of PSCM's permit boundary. Those
holes within the boundary will be covered by a minor revision and bond increase to the Sage
Creek Mine Permit.
The locations of the five (5) holes are shown on Map 1, 2012 Exploration Program Surface
Ownership. Supplemental information is included to further discuss and /or explain the proposed
exploration drilling program. The 2012 Exploration Program will provide PSCM with additional
geologic and coal quality information needed to assess coal recovery potential and economic
feasibility for possible future coal reserves.
There is concurrent permitting for exploration through the following agencies: Bureau of Land
Management under a Federal Exploration License Application and Exploration/Reclamation
Plan, Routt County Board of County Commissioners through an Administrative Permit
Application, and the State Land Board of Commissioners as an Application for Exploration.
The proposed exploration locations are generally in areas previously disturbed by historic coal
exploration/mining and /or agricultural operations, and have been located adjacent to existing
roads where feasible. Cultural resource clearances have been completed in most areas, however
additional surveys need to be conducted for CCU081 and CCU083 as soon as ground conditions
allow. The results will be forwarded as soon as received and occur before any drilling on this
site takes place.
