r
1
the spillway crest is at 106.5 and the bottom of the pond is at 100.0 The volume reserved for
sediment is 0.05 AF and corresponds to elevation 100.3. All volumes were calculated using the
same techniques as described for the East Pond in TR2.
The East Pond currently has a volume of 1.36 AF while the required volume is only 0.05 AF.
Thus, no enlargement is required. The embankments of the East Pond will be reshaped to meet
the 5:1 slope requirements and regulation outlet works installed.
Outlet Works
The outlet works for the East and West Pond will be constructed as describe in TR2. Reduction
of the peak discharge correspondingly results in reduced spillways size. The peak discharge for
the West Pond is 8 cfs which requires a weir notch 6 feet long and 0.5 feet high. Peak discharge
for the East Pond is less than 1 cfs resulting a weir with a crest length of 2 foot and height of
0.3 feet. One foot of freeboard is required above the high water line for each pond.
The low level outlets also remain basically the same as described in TR2. Orifice diameters
are reduced to 2.5 inches for the West Pond and 1.5 inches for the East Pond. Documentation
is included in appendix 7.
6
