NOTICE OF PROPOSED DECISION <br /> The Colorado Mined Land Reclamation Division has approved with conditions an <br /> application for a revision (PR - 002) to the existing permit to conduct coal <br /> mining and reclamation operations submitted by the National King Coal for the <br /> King Coal Mine. <br /> The King Coal Mine operation is located in in La Plata County, approximately 7 <br /> miles SW from Hesperus, Colorado. The mine is an underground with an <br /> anticipated maximum production capacity of 120,000 tons per year. The coal to <br /> be mined is federal owned, and the surface to be affected is private owned. <br /> The revised permit area encompasses approximately 480 acres in Sections 31 and <br /> 32, T35N, R11W. <br /> This proposed approval decision is based on a finding that the proposed <br /> operation will comply with all requirements of the Colorado Surface Coal <br /> Mining Reclamation Act, C.R. S. 34-33-101 , et seq. , and the regulations <br /> promulgated thereunder. <br /> Copies of the proposed decision including stipulations, are on file for public <br /> inspection at the Colorado Mined Land Reclamation Division, Room 215, <br /> Centennial Building, 1313 Sherman Street, Denver, Colorado 80203 and at the <br /> County Clerk 's Office in La Plata County, 1060 E Second Avenue, Durango, CO. <br /> Persons with an interest that may be adversely affected by the proposed <br /> decision may request a formal hearing before the Mined Land Reclamation Board <br /> on the proposed decision. Such request must be made within thirty (30) days <br /> of the initial publication of this notice, must be in writing, and must state <br /> with reasonable specificity the reasons for the request and the objections to <br /> the proposed decision. <br /> HR/eas <br /> 882OG <br />
