XV. Operations Description - Rules 2.05.2, 2.05.3(2) and 4.01
Mine operations within the proposed revision area will proceed as addressed in
the original application and the July, 1987 Findings Document. Anticipated
annual coal production will remain at 90,000 to 120,000 tons. Acquisition of
the lease modification does not extend the mine life, but replaces unmineable
reserves in the current permit area.
The operation is in compliance with the requirements of this section.
XVI. Explosives - Rules 2.05.3(6) and 4.08
The specific findings required under this section which were made in the
July, 1987 Findings Document have not been modified by the proposed revision
and those findings remain applicable.
The operation is in compliance with the requirements of this section.
XVII. Backfilling and Grading - Rules 2.05.3(3) , 2.05.3(4) , 2.05.4(2) (a) ,
c and 4.14
The specific findings required under this section which were made in the
July, 1987 Findings Document have not been modified by the proposed revision
and those findings remain applicable.
The operation is in compliance with the requirements of this section.
XVIII. Coal Processing Waste and Non-coal Processing Waste -
Rules an
As addressed in the July, 1987 Findings Document, no coal processing waste as
defined by the regulations is produced at the King Coal Mine. However, roof
fall material is generated by the operation and temporarily stored on the
surface for subsequent backstowing within worked out mine sections.
Since the revision will not increase the rate of coal extraction, no increase
in the amount of waste rock generation is anticipated. The discussion in the
July, 1987 Findings Document regarding roof fall storage and backstowing
operations remains applicable.
The operation is in compliance with the requirements of this section.
XIX. Mine Facilities, Coal Handling Structures and Support Facilities;
Roads and Ponds, Impoundments and Diversions - Rules ,
and 4.05
The specific findings required under this section which were made in the
July, 1987 Findings Document have not been modified by the proposed revision
and those findings remain applicable.
The operation is in compliance with the requirements of this section.
-7-
