IMPOUNDMENT CAPACITIES - ACRE FEET
Water
Sediment
Total
Sediment Pond
6.34
0.90
7.24
C.B. MINERALS COMPANY, LLC
COAL RIDGE NO. 1 MINE
IMPOUNDMENT YEARLY INSPECTION
In accordance with Rule 4.05.9(14), all impoundments shall be inspected at least yearly
to determine if the impoundment has been maintained as designed, and in accordance
with the approved plan and the applicable regulations. This yearly inspection is for the
impoundment located at the Coal Ridge No. 1 Mine.
On March 23, 2012, I performed the required yearly inspection. I, J. E. Stover, have a
wide variety experience in the design and construction of earth fill embankments.
Nothing was observed during the inspection that would indicate the pond has a
potential for failure. There was some erosion around an inlet culvert that needs
repaired. There were not any instability, structural weakness or other hazardous
conditions. There are no required monitoring procedures or instrumentation other than
quarterly and yearly inspections. There are no aspects which might affect stability. The
pond was dry.
Erosion repair should be complete during April.
The impoundment has the following capacity:
Note:
Capacities are derived from Figure 4.3 -6, Issue No. 1 dated 7/27/00 and
verification of sediment level relative to primary spillway.
To the best of my knowledge and b. ef, the impoundment has been maintained as
designed and in accordanceytdMIVved plan and applicable regulations. li
40*:+t 4:."
a* 1923 ' r•
' i
Ivo d (,, ' v w.'
Jam` 's1pver 1.`.
