Jill Carlson of the Colorado Geological Survey participated in the inspection to provide geotechnical
a ssistan ce with the landslide features. Weather co nditions were clear and warm; ground conditions were dry.
HYDROLOGIC BALANCE - Rule 4.05 Drainage Control 4.05.1, 4.05.2, 4.05.3; Siltation Structures 4.05.5,
4.05.6; Discharge Structures 4.05.7, 4.05.10; Diversions 4.05.4; Effluent Limits 4.05.2; Gr ound Water
Monitoring 4.05.13; Surface Water Monitoring 4.05.13; Drainage – Acid and Toxic Materials 4.05.8;
Impoundments 4.05.6, 4.05.9; Stream Buffer Zones 4.05.18:
Ponds 010, 011A, 012A, 012, 013, and 014 all held water. Stock tanks ST -1 was dry. Th e underdrains at
the Pond 012 slide were both draining into Pond 012.

Postmining drainage channel YPM4 was still blocked by the toe of the Pond 013 slide and should be rerouted
before winter sets in to ensure that snowmelt does not cause erosion in the re claimed areas adjacent to the channel.
The TRM at the top of YPM8 , where it crosses Road B, needs to be repaired where the channel is eroding beneath
it.

Three surge ponds had been constructed in the YPM13 drainage, above Pond 011A. Topsoil was being r eplaced
on the regraded areas and the disturbed area was being hand seeded. The sections of the channel between the
surge ponds had not been repaired yet, but the operator indicated that channel regrading and rip rap placement
would be completed next.

SL IDES and DAMAGE - Rule 4.12:
The Pond 012 slide area was stable, but the regraded failure slope was significantly eroded. The Pond 013
slide area did not show any signs of recent movement.

The neck pit slide area also showed no signs of recent movemen t. The gradient of the drains that were excavated
