Care was taken to avoid the established shrubs. The operator should monitor this
area and spray any weeds that emerge again.

The 2010 shrub plot at the base of the north pit area (adjacent to Haul Road A) and the clump at the inlet of Pond
012 both looked good. Several of the newly planted shrubs and trees were leafed out and looked very healthy.
The operator indicated that more shrubs and trees were scheduled to be planted yet this fall.

SLIDES and DAMAGE - Rule 4.12:
The scarp of the Neck Pit slide had been graded to a more stable and safe configuration, as had the scarp
of the Pond 013 slide. Toe drains were being excavated in the Neck Pit slide area. The operator reported that toe
grading of the Pond 013 slide t o clear the affected postmining drainage channels had been complete, but this was
not field inspected due to heavy rains the second morning of the inspection.

The Pond 012 slide repair was complete with the exception of hydroseeding along the regraded sli de face, which
the Division recommended delaying until next year in the event that the slope is not yet stabilized.

ENFORCEMENT ACTIONS/COMPLIANCE

No enforcement actions were initiated as a result of this inspection, nor are any pending.
