ROADS – Rule 4.03 Drainage 4.03.1(4)/4.03.2(4) Surfacing and Mainten ance4.03.1(5) and (6)/4.03.2(5) and (6) Rec lamation 4.03.1(7)/4.03.2(7): The access roads in the mine area were snow covered with several inches of snow. Warm temperatures during the inspection resulted in the snow melting off and the roads were soft. The inspection did not access the Monarch fan due to the slick conditions. The access road to the RDA was in good condition. Water bars cut into the road were effective in directing runoff into the ditches. No problems were identified with the approved roads in the permit area. RECLAMATION SUCCESS - Rule 4.15, Rule 3: The revegetated areas appear stable and have good vegetative cover established. There was no evidence of rilling or gullying on the reclaimed slope s. SUBSIDENCE – Rule 4.20: One of t he Landowners, Dr. Corley, had contacted the Division regarding several “subsidence” holes that the landowner had found on his property. Dr. Corley identified seven features that he believes have developed surface expression within the last year (2011). He notified the division via e -mail regarding these holes on November 18, 2011. The holes are located near two brasscap markers, identifying an IMP project # 8123. This project “Canyon City project” was conducted by the DRMS -IMP in 1988 and completed in 19 89. George Patterson directed the inspector to the location of the identified holes. 6 holes were located and GPS coordinates were collected. The 7th feature noted by the landowner was not located. GPS used = Trimble GeoXT . The area where the holes are located is heavily wooded and east of Newlin Creek, West of the Southfield RDA. The first and largest hole (hole 1) was approximately 15 feet deep, 45 feet long and 25 feet deep. There are tree trunks and large rocks visible in this hole. Hole 1 was located just north of the southern brasscap marker. Hole 2 is smaller and located North of hole 1 and the northern brasscap marker. Hole 2 is approximatley 5 feet deep, 15 feet long, and 8 feet wide. An old spoil pile is located east of hole 2. Hole 3 is west of hole 2, and north of hole 1. Dimensions are approximately 15 feet deep, 15 feet wide and 30 feet long. Hole 4 is SW of hole 3 and NW of hole 1. Dimensions are approximately 15 feet deep, 35 feet long, and 25 feet wide. Hole 5 is south of hole 4,and SW of hole 1. Dimensions are approximately 10 feet deep, 25 feet wide, and 25 feet long. The sides of this hole are abrupt and steep.
