On February 1, 2012, Division of Reclamation, Mining and Safety (Division /DRMS) received a
Transfer of Approved Mineral Application and Succession of Permit Applicant form (50 -01)
from Martin Marietta for the Iverson Mine. Martin Marietta submitted the required Financial
and Performance Warranties for the site at the same time. The Division approved the Transfer
of Approved Mineral Application and Succession of Permit Applicant form and issued the
permit for the Iverson Mine to Martin Marietta Materials, Inc. on February 27, 2012.
The Division is required to recalculate the reclamation bond within 60 -days (April 27, 2012)
from the date of the transfer. The Division updated the original 112c permit application bond
calculation to reflect current equipment and labor costs. The revised financial warranty
amount is $275,300.00, which is an increase of $41,900.00.
Martin Marietta will have 60 -days (June 5, 2012) from the date of this letter to submit a rider or
a new financial warranty per Rule 4.2. If you wish to submit a different type of Financial
Warranty, the various application forms can be found at the following website:
