October 19, 2011 C -1981 -010 /Trapper Mine RDZ <br /> <br /> <br />Number of Partial Inspection this Fiscal Year: 6 <br />Number of Complete Inspections this Fiscal Year: 1 <br /> <br /> Page 4 o f 10 <br /> <br /> <br /> <br />ROADS – Rule 4.03 Construction 4.03.1(3)/4.03.2(3) Drainage 4.03.1(4)/4.03.2(4) Surfacing and <br />Maintenance4.03.1(5) and (6)/4.03.2(5) and (6) Rec lamation 4.03.1(7)/4.03.2(7): <br />Many roads were observed during the inspection, and all were stab le and were functioning as permitted at the time <br />of the inspection. These included the following: K3 (which is almost complete), LOM, North AE, HG, Z3, and the <br />Old BC Road. <br /> <br />The Middle AE Road and the access road to No Name Pond #5 are in need of repair. <br /> <br /> <br />RECLAMATION SUCCESS - Rule 4.15, Rule 3: <br />A tamarisk was observed near the channel repairs in Middle Flume. <br /> <br />Rills previously observed on the reclaimed slope north of the Ash Pit remain covered by vegetation, and <br />apparently are healing. The pond bel ow this area was being cleaned during the inspection. This material is being <br />placed in the Ash Pit as well as along the Middle Ash Road, where it drains into spoils. <br /> <br />The area that was re -disturbed in the north end of Area F -AB -05 (identified in SL -12 ins pection) has been <br />topsoiled and seeded. <br /> <br /> <br />REVEGETATION – Rule 4.15 Vegetative Cover; Timing: <br />During the inspection, seeding was being completed near the D Pit, F Pit, and East Pyeatt Pond #1. <br /> <br />S IGNS AND MARKERS – Rule 4.02: <br />The mine ID and blastin g signs at the main mine entrance were found to be in compliance. The mine ID sign on <br />the west side of the permit area requires replacing (it was knocked down). <br /> <br />An additional perimeter marker is needed on the w est side of the permit area. <br /> <br /> <br />TOPSOIL – Rule 4.06 Removal 4.06.2; Substitute Materials 4.06.4(4); Storage and Protection 4 .06.3; <br />Redistribution 4.06.4: <br />Three scrapers were laying down topsoil and grading a reclamation area. Per Billy Nicholson, this soil came from <br />the ZTS4 pile. <br /> <br />Topsoil s tripping was not observed at Trapper Mine during the inspection. <br /> <br />Additional work has been performed on topsoil pile Z1 -09. The pile is much less steep and further from the power <br />line than in September. Per Billy Nicholson, a large amount of this pile ha s been hauled to F Pit. <br />
