There was no operator representative present during <br />the inspection. Weather conditions were clear and warm. Ground conditions were dry. McClave Canyon Mine is <br />currently an inactive underground coal mining operation and in temporary cessation. There was very little activity <br />at the mine site since it is in temporary cessation. A few workers were present at the mine office. <br />AVAILABILITY OF RECORDS — Rule 5.02.4(1): <br />The availability of records was checked at J.E. Stover & Associates office on the morning of March 28th. The <br />records files are retained and updated by J.E. Stover & Associates. All required records were on file and available <br />for review during this complete inspection (see the DRMS Availability of Records checklist at the end of this <br />inspection report). <br />HYDROLOGIC BALANCE -Rule 4.05 <br />Drainage Control 4.05.1, 4.05.2, 4.05.3; Siltation Structures 4.05.5, 4.05.6; Discharge Structures 4.05.7, <br />4.05.10; Diversions 4.05.4; Effluent Limits 4.05.2; Ground Water Monitoring 4.05.13; Surface Water Monitoring <br />4.05.13; Drainage — Acid and Toxic Materials 4.05.8; Impoundments 4.05.6, 4.05.9; Stream Buffer Zones 4.05.18: <br />Drainage structures and diversion culverts in the portal area were clear of debris and appeared to be functional. <br />The catchment basins for the large diversions at the upper end of the portals area were all dry and well maintained. <br />The location of the rock fall that occurred in December 2010 in the clean water diversion behind the exhaust fan <br />housing was inspected. The area remains stable and there does not appear to be any additional significant rock fall <br />at this location. <br />The shop area collection ditch that runs behind the warehouse was clear of sediment and debris.
