Introduction <br />This document is the decision package prepared by the Colorado Division of Reclamation, Mining and <br />Safety (the Division) for the Hamilton Mine. This document includes: 1) the proposed decision to approve <br />Permit Renewal No. 4 (RN -04); 2) a summary which includes a history of the review of the permit <br />application, a description of the environment affected by the operation, and a description of the mining and <br />reclamation plan; and 3) the written findings of compliance the Division has made as required by the <br />Colorado Surface Coal Mining Reclamation Act. Detailed information concerning the findings of <br />compliance can be found in the Regulations of the Colorado Mined Land Reclamation Board for Coal <br />Mining. <br />On June 30, 2011, the Division received an application for a permit renewal to conduct surface coal <br />mining and reclamation operations at the Hamilton Mine from J. E. Stover and Associates, on behalf of <br />Honeywood Coal Company. The mine is located on private lands within Montrose County, Colorado. <br />The legal description of the lands included within the 757 acre permit area is: <br />Township 46 North, Range 15 West, N.M.P.M. <br />Section 32: E1/2 E1/2 <br />Section 33: W' /2 <br />Disturbed areas in the SVNW1/4NE1/4, SW1/4NE1/4, W1/2 NW1/4 SE1/4 <br />Township 45 North, Range 15 West, N.M.P.M. <br />Section 4: Portions of Lots 3, 4, 5, 6, 11, & 12 <br />Section 5: N1/2 NE1/4NE1/4 <br />April 3, 2012 <br />RN4 <br />1 <br />
