Therefore, we are unable to comment on the proposed project's
effects on historic properties.
We would also like to take this opportunity to request an update regarding the previously agreed to
documentation of five (5) sites located within the Cripple Creek & Victor Gold Mine (CC &V), Cresson Project,
Amendment (AM) #9 area (see letters by Mr. Jeff Fugate, Assistant Attorney General, on October 21, 2008 with
clarification provided by Mr. Gary Goodrich, CC &V Environmental Resources Manager, on November 6,
2008). While we understand that the AM #9 activities have not been completed (anticipated timeframe of
completion between 2014 and 2016) it appears that some of the documentation (specifically the Level II
documentation for the Simms Ore Sorting House) was scheduled to be finished in 2009. To our knowledge,
our office has not received any supporting documentation nor have we received any correspondence apprising
us to the current status of this project.
Thank you for the opportunity to comment. We look forward to continued consultation on the subject project.
If we may be of further assistance, please contact Mark Tobias, Section 106 Compliance Manager, at (303) 866-
4674 or mark.tobias@state.co.us or Dan Corson, Intergovernmental Services Director, at (303) 866 -2673 or
dan.corson@state.co.us.
tate.co.us.
Si erely,
dward C
Nichols
State Historic Preservation Officer
ECN /MAT
HISTORY COLORADO CENTER 1200 BROADWAY DENVER COLORADO 80203
