Stover and Associates
2352 North 7 th Street, Unit B
Grand Junction, CO 81501
Re: Bowie No. 2 — Permit No. C- 1996 -083
MR -128, As -Built Terror Creek Vent Shaft
Dear Mr. Stover:
John W. Hickenlooper
Governor
Mike King
Executive Director
Loretta E. Pineda
Director
The Division of Reclamation, Mining and Safety (Division) received your application on behalf of
Bowie Resources, LLC (BRL) for Minor Revision No. 128 (MR -128) at the Bowie No. 2 Mine on
December 27, 2011. The application was deemed complete for the purposes of filing on January 6,
2012. The Division has the following comments regarding the proposed plan:
1. On Map 42 Terror Creek Shaft - Plan View and Details, the soil nail walls are not identified in the
plan view at left, nor in the Legend. Please revise Map 42 to reflect the location of the soil nail
walls.
2. Map 18 -2 shows post - mining topography for the Terror Creek fan site, together with a series of four
Sections (1 thru 4) showing the pre - mining, operational, and post - mining surfaces. I suggest that it
would be helpful 1) if Map 18 -2 referenced Map 42 for the operational plan view, and 2) if the
locations of Sections 1 thru 4 could be shown on Map 42, with a corresponding reference back to
map 18 -2 for the Cross Sections.
3. The footers in the revised pages are not labeled correctly. Some of the footers are blank, labeled
MR -127 or MR -168 and not all the dates are consistent. Please fix all the footers to reflect MR -128
and the correct date.
If you have any questions, please contact me.
Sincerely,
Brock Bowles
Environmental Protection Specialist
Cc: William Bear, Bowie Resources, LLC.
