2815.8 —820.7
(1356.1f 36 — 8.06
Since critical t = 0.854 (one - tailed, alpha = 0.2, 29 dfsat) and t, is greater than this critical value, a
hypothesis of no difference is rejected and revegetation success for Phase Ill herbaceous production for
2011 is demonstrated.
WOODY PLANT DENSITY
Figure C - and C graphically presents the "Background" and "Concentration Area" woody plant density
averages for the 2011 BRB PSCM -1, respectively. As can be seen, the 732.5 stems per acre observed in
the Background area far exceeds the 180 stems per acre (90 percent of the 200 stems per acre
background standard) performance standard. The 2703.3 stems per acre observed in the Concentration
area also exceeds the 1800 stems per acre (90 percent of the 2000 stems per acre background standard)
performance standard. The total Concentration Area identified was 229.2 acres, or 22.1% of the BRB
PSCM -1 (1039.4 acres). Hence the standard that there would be at least 5% of the Phase Ill BRB block
with at least 2000 stems per acre has been met for 2011.
"Background" Density
Use of a reverse -null t -test of the assertion that the 2011 BRB PSCM -1 background woody plant density
exceeds 90% of the standard is as follows:
t =
— (0.9 * technical standard)
(s)
732.5 -180
i — (1104.8) = 2 74
30
27
