Daingkau to DMG dated March 21, 2002
Dear Sir:
The Division has received your recent letter, as indicated above. Although the letter makes reference to an enclosed chart, no
chart was received with the letter. If that information is critical to the purpose of your letter, please send the Division a copy.
The Division is unsure what open pit mining operation may be of concern to your organization. Your letter was not specific in
that regard. If you would indicate the specific operation, the Division might be better able to respond.
Please be aware that although the Division is a permitting and enforcement agency for mining operations in the State of
Colorado, we do not deal directly with the protection of property with archaeological or historical significance. Your
concerns in that regard should be expressed to the State Historical Preservation Office (SHPO) Q 1300 Broadway, Denver,
CO 80203, Ph: 303 - 866 -3682.
If you have any questions in regard to the above, please feel free to contact me.
Sincerely,
Gcleuat,d
James C.
