March 21, 2012 C- 1981 - 018 /Deserado Mine ZTT <br />amount of sediment entering the culvert. Sedimentation has built up to the top of this check dam and is in need of <br />cleaning. The culvert is clear on the inlet and outlet. <br />Sedimentation Ponds PP -1, PP2, RP -2/3 (southern cells) and RP -5a held minimal amounts of water with no <br />discharge. All the ponds embankments were stable and well vegetated at the time of the inspection. <br />Sedimentation Ponds RP -1, RP -2/3 (northern cell), RR -1, RRS -1 and SS -2 held no water. All embankments were <br />stable and well vegetated at the time of the inspection. <br />The B -Seam Dewatering Pond is almost completed. Final artificial wetland cuts have been made and the Last <br />Chance Pond and primary spillway with flume are finished. At the time of inspection they were surveying the <br />pond and were informed an as -built drawing will be made. <br />HRB -2, HRB -3, HRB4 and Explosive Storage SAES were inspected for proper sediment control measures. Each <br />SAE is surrounded by berms diverting runoff to constructed rock check dams. No major signs of erosion were <br />present and all check dams were stable. <br />Water Storage Tank, Radio Tower, RDH -2 and B -Vent Shaft SAES were constructed with gravel pads for <br />sediment control measures. Each SAE were well graded with gravel and no major signs of erosion were present. <br />Culverts within the facility area in need of maintenance and/or clearing: two culverts just south of the Pipe Arch <br />undercrossing, culvert beneath the B Portal entrance, culvert beneath intersection of road to Mine Substation, <br />culvert beneath the intersection of road to Moon Lake Substation and the culvert just southeast of Truck Loadout <br />Bin. <br />Other culverts within the mine permit boundary in need of maintenance and /or clearing: culvert just east of the <br />Slot Storage, culvert beneath intersection of the Access Road and Slot Storage, culvert leading to Pond SS -1, <br />culvert east of RP -2/3 and culvert at the entrance of the Radio Tower SAE. <br />Culverts and manholes beneath the Haul Road and Access Road are clear and stable. <br />Appears water is ponding in the ditch behind the Rotary Breaker and drainage may need to be reestablished. <br />Number of Partial Inspection this Fiscal Year: 6 <br />Number of Complete Inspections this Fiscal Year: 3 <br />Page 3 of 7 <br />
