DIVISION OF RECLAMATION, MINING AND SAFETY
Department of Natural Resources
1313 Sherman St., Room 215
Denver, Colorado 80203
Phone: (303) 866 -3567
FAX: (303) 832 -8106
March 16, 2012
Notice to Parties to the Animas Glacier Gravel Permit Application
Re: Animas Glacier Gravel (AGG), File No. M- 2011 -028, Response to Comments
Received
To Whom It May Concern:
The Division of Reclamation, Mining, and Safety (Division) received comments related to the above construction
materials application during the initial application process in 2011. You are one of the individuals who submitted
comments and expressed an interest in maintaining a party status, according to Division procedures related to review of
112c Construction Materials applications.
On November 18, 2011 the Division approved a Succession of Operator, transferring the application from Weeminuche
Construction Authority to Oldcastle SW Group, Inc. dba Four Corners Materials. Therefore, the application, in its
original form, including comments has been transferred to Four Corners Materials.
On March 12, 2012, the Division received a stormwater management plan and responses to the original adequacy issues
related to the application and sent out by the Division on June 29, 2011. These materials are enclosed for your review.
The Division has scheduled the pre - operational inspection of the site for 10:00 AM Tuesday March 27, 2012. We will be
meeting at the south end of the Home Depot parking lot. If you are interested in attending this inspection, please contact
me to let me know you will be present.
Enclosed, you will also find the "Guide to Citizen Participation in the 112 Reclamation Permit Application Process for
Construction Materials and Hard Rock/Metal Mining Operations." This document describes the process if you still have
concerns related to the permit application, after reviewing the materials submitted by Four Corners Materials. If the
additional application materials have satisfied your concerns, I ask that you submit the last page of the above document,
withdrawing your party status. If you still have concerns that you want to address to the Mined Land Reclamation Board,
you will need to attend a Pre- hearing conference to be scheduled in late April, and appear before the May 9 & 10, 2012
meeting of the MLRB in Denver to submit your testimony.
If you have any questions, contact me at (970) 259 -5861.
Kate Pickford
Environmental Protection Specialist
Office of
Mined Land Reclamation
STATE OF COLORADO
RECEIVED
MAR
 r
Division of Reclamation,
Mining & Safety
COLORADO
D I V I S I O N O F
RECLAMATION
MINING
SAFETY
John W Hickenlooper
Govemor
Mike King
Executive Director
Loretta E.
