My writing is not the most legible. We
discussed several issues pertinent to soil standards for the New Horizon mine. Based on my
notes and recollection, issues referenced include Mr. Dearstyne's opinion that selenium (Se),
was not an issue (and need not be included as a monitoring parameter at New horizon), because
of very low presence in the Dakota formation in the mine vicinity. Notes also reference his
"OK" for a prime farmland subsoil conductivity (EC) standard of 6 for a single location,
with average value for a particular landowner in the 4 to 5 range. The note " Dearstyne ok
with the 35/25 coarse fragment std ", references our discussion of the acceptability of a
Bench 1 substitute subsoil criteria of 35% for an individual sample site, and 25% average per
landowner.
Can you please place this email and the attached note in the PR -6 file for New Horizon?
Thanks
Dan
- - - -- Original Message---- -
From: gja @naturenet.state.co.us [mailto :gja @naturenet.state.co.us]
Sent: Friday, October 01, 2010 5:16 PM
To: Mathews, Dan
Subject: Scan Data from XC- 384AE5
Number of Images: 1
Attachment File Type: PDF
Device Name: WorkCentre 7132
Device Location:
1
