DISTURBANCE (NEEDING RECLAMA-
TioN)
!
STAGE 1
ac. ±
ALLOWED BY
BOND ac. ±
Slab stone mining (orange)
11.11
25.00
Reclaimed, seeded (green)
4.33
NA
Topsoil stockpiles (tan)
2.54
NA
Temporary Stone Storage Area ( / //)
26.70
35.00
Stone Yard
13.55*
13.55*
J Total disturbance
I
44.68 I
60.00
Permittee Name: Siloam Stone, Inc.
Permit No: M- 1987 -086
Operation Name: Bedrock Mine
Anniversary Date: 03/16/2012
Additional information (as of 3/12/12)
7. No new area was disturbed this year As we continued to mine in
previously disturbed areas. The stone yard and topsoil piles remain
unchanged from last year. We continue to use the grizzlies setup
in 2002 for processing stone in the Stone Yard. The following table
shows the status of the mine area, in acres, disturbed at the mine:
- historic Industrial use area - no reclamation required
9. No reclamation was required but as in the past we continue to
cleanup the pre -law disturbed area by filling, graded, and shaped
the areas around the perimeter of the area. The size of the
Temporary Stone Storage (TSS) changes during the year and the grass
on those areas previously disturbed are recovering. This is an
example of the ever changing size of the TSS area accounted for in
the bond calculation.
10. We will continue to remove stone from the slab stone mining area and
stockpiled stone in the stone yard. If needed, we expect to expand
the slab stone mining in to areas adjacent to where we mined this
year. The stone yard area is industrial area and would need no
reclamation if mining ended prematurely. We continue to add and
remove stone from the TSSA's as market demands dictate.
11. Reclamation is being completed as required in the permit, we are
within the bonded limits set in 2009. We will reclaim any areas
that are in their final configuration as mining progresses this
year. Seeding will be completed as new areas are resoiled.
12. At this time there are 4.33 acres ± (green) that have been shaped,
graded, resoiled and seeded. The 4th growing season starts this
year and the grasses are growing as expected.
13. Nothing has changed from the 2011 Annual Report Map that is an
excerpt from the application map showing the southeast portion of
the mine where mining activities are taking place at this time. As
a reminder within the permit area for this mine are 2 other mines,
The Pinon Mine, M- 1997 -094 (6.26 ac ±) and the Siloam Pit, M -1977-
326 (9.99 ac ±) with separate bonds.
16. We have approximately 48,400 cy of topsoil saved for reclamation,
located in around the mined area (brown).
19. The current bond is $88,170.00. It was reviewed and recalculated
in June 2009.
