(1) This operation is not expected to directly affect surface or groundwater systems. Historically
no ground water has been discovered in the local area that the permit covers.
(2) Since this operation is not expected to directly affect surface or groundwater systems, items (a)
(b) and (c) are not necessary. However some of the information is supplied as a matter of course.
(a) On the map, (EXHIBIT "C ") there are no watercourses on site permit boundary area. There
are no wells, springs, ditches or reservoirs on the affected lands. The Huerfano River is east of
the permit - affected lands approximately 400 to 500 feet at the nearest point. There are no
structures that would be affected by the proposed mining operations.
(b) There are no known aquifers to be identified.
EXHIBIT "G"
Water Information
(c) There will be no dewatering operation or runoff from disturbed areas. A low earthen berm will
be placed around areas of excavation to prevent runoff from the pit area. A Stormwater Discharge
Permit and associated Stormwater ManagementPlan (SWMP) will be developed for this operation.
Best Management Practices will be used as defined by the EPA.
(3) There will be no water requirements for processing the product. All products produced will be
processed dry and no water is added. Mining and reclamation phases will not require water.
(4) As stated above water will not be required or involved for the washing of product.
(5) A Stormwater Discharge permit will be applied for from the Water Quality Control Division
of the Colorado Department of Health and associated Stormwater Management Plan will be
developed.
