quality nor restrict historical flow. <br />(d) Some earthen structures may remain that were used to control stormwater after <br />mining. Reclamation requires no structures eg. dams or ponds. <br />(2) No dams will be constructed on this mine site. <br />(3) All surface areas of the affected land, including spoil piles, will be stabilized and protected <br />so as to effectively control erosion. <br />3.1.7 Groundwater - Specific Requirements <br />(1) This area is high and dry. No groundwater will be exposed during mining. There are no <br />permits contemplated or needed. <br />3.1.8 Wildlife <br />(a) The statewide groundwater standards will be followed as established by the <br />Water Quality Control Commission (hereafter, the WQCC). <br />(b) Classified areas: Operations that may affect the quality of ground water in a <br />specified area that has been classified by the WQCC shall comply with <br />standards applicable to such specified area. <br />(c) Unclassified areas: operations that may affect the quality of groundwater, which <br />has not been classified by the WQCC, shall protect the existing and reasonably <br />potential future uses of such groundwater. <br />(d) Water quality standards applicable to groundwater that has been classified, <br />state -wide standards for certain pollutants, and interim narrative standards set <br />by the WQCC shall supersede any numeric protection levels established for the <br />subject pollutants to this Subsection 3.1.7 <br />(1) The operator will consider the safety and protection of wildlife on site. No described <br />critical periods or species are known by this operator /applicant or landowner. The <br />COLORADO DIVISION OF WILDLIFE statement/evaluation prepared by Michael <br />Trujillo Colorado Division of Wildlife dated February 19, 2012 is attached in this report in <br />Exhibit "H ". <br />(2) No habitat management is planned on this site. Reclamation is planned rangeland not <br />wildlife habitat. <br />3.1.9 - Topsoiling <br />(1) Topsoil will be stockpiled in close proximity to the mine areas in order to shorten haul <br />distances to and from the areas that were stripped.
