The life of this mine may extend beyond the 15 years as listed on the mining plan map, this depends upon demand for the product; this time line may be shorter or longer. This mine will be a year round operation with no planned extended cessation of operations at this mine site. The applicant is Huerfano County Government and a financial warranty is not required, therefore a bond on the 36.46 acres is not planned. However, when mining is completed on this operation reclamation will be commenced in a timely manner. The mining stages will be seeded at the various times depending upon the time of year. The land shaping will be done as the mining proceeds. The mining plan has no phases. The excavated area will range in size from about 10 acres to 15 acres the road will not be reclaimed as directed by the landowner. It is planned that it will take approximately 10 to 15 years to mine out this pit. (i) The estimate of the periods of time, which are stated above are an estimate at this time. The production is a factor of necessity in the near by geographical sector of the Huerfano County Road Maintenance Department. . It will take between 3 to 5 years to establish the reclaimed area back to rangeland that may be considered for release by the Mined Land Reclamation Board of the Division of Reclamation, Mining and Safety. The reclamation will be an ongoing process as soon as the an area is deemed mined out the reclamation will follow a natural progression with final reclamation as the ultimate goal. (ii) As stated in this report, the mining and affected land will range between 10 acres to 15 acres with a maximum of 15 acres being disturbed at any time. Reclamation would be occurring on the lands mined out concurrently with mining. (iii) The sequence in which each stage will be carried out is outlined above.
