OBSERVATIONS
This inspection was conducted as part of the normal monitoring program established by the Colorado Division of
Reclamation, Mining and Safety (DRMS). Both Mr. and Mrs. Farnsworth accompanied the inspector during the
inspection. The River Bottom Land Gravel Pit is a 9.00 acre gravel pit located approximately 1.3 miles west of Paonia,
Colorado in Delta County.
The site appears to be mainly utilized as a processing area for construction material imported from adjacent gravel pits
also permited by Mr. & Mrs. Farnsworth.
The approved reclamation for the site is a graveled industrial commercial area. No revegetation or de- compaction is
required at the site.
A pile of recycled asphalt was observed near the northeastern coner of the permit area. A small portion of the asphalt was
within the permit area. If the operator wishes to import materials such as asphalt, recycled concrtete, etc. the operator
must submit a request per the requirements of Rule 3.1.5(9) or remove the material from the permit area and provide
photo- documentation that proves the material was removed no later than April 12, 2012.
No noxious weeds were observed during the inspection.
The currently held bond amount of $2,478.00 is adequate at this time.
If there are any questions regarding this inspection report please contact me at (970) 241 -2042.
PERMIT #: M -1992 -100
INSPECTOR'S INITIALS: THM
INSPECTION DATE: March 6, 2012
