DIVISION OF RECLAMATION, MINING AND SAFETY <br />Department of Natural Resources <br />1313 Sherman St., Room 215 <br />Denver, Colorado 80203 <br />Phone: (303) 866 -3567 <br />FAX: (303) 832 -8106 <br />March 16, 2012 <br />Ms. Gina Nance <br />GCC Rio Grande, Inc. <br />3372 Lime Road <br />Pueblo, CO 81004 <br />Re: Pueblo Cement Plant and Limestone Quarry, Permit No. M- 2002 -004, <br />Technical Revision Approval, Revision No. TR -2 <br />Dear Ms. Nance: <br />On April 2, 2012 the Division of Reclamation, Mining and Safety approved the Technical Revision application <br />submitted to the Division on March 2, 2012, addressing the following changes to operation plan and name of <br />facility: <br />Modifications to conform with modified Air Permit: <br />o Increase limestone production from 15 million tons per year (tpy) to 225 million tpy. <br />o Increase overburden stripping from 405,000 tpy to 690,742 tpy. <br />o Increase the number of acres undergoing active quarrying from 15.5 to 40. <br />o Replace the hours of operation requirements for quarrying and overburden activities with a restriction on <br />daily production tonnages. <br />Increase the amount of the reclamation bond to account for additional acreage requiring reclamation. <br />Change the name of the facility to conform current usage. <br />The terms of the Technical Revision No. 2 approved by the Division are hereby incorporated into Permit No. M- <br />2002 -004. All other conditions and requirements of Permit No. M- 2002 -004 remain in full force and effect. <br />The estimated liability amount of $1,885,000.00 exceeds the $1,313,475.00 performance bond currently held. If <br />you have not already done so, please submit additional bond in the amount of $571,525.00. The revision will <br />not be final until the bond is approved by the Division.
