A comprehensive
facility -wide weed spray effort will be undertaken in 2012.
Annual Report — 2011
Henderson Mine and Mill Reclamation Activities
Permit No. M- 1977 -342
1.4.2 — Groundwater Data
Groundwater data for well MNGW -1 for Henderson Mine is contained in Attachment B.
2.0 Henderson Mill
2.1 Disturbance
Approximately 14 acres were disturbed in 2011. A total of 6 acres were disturbed from incremental
tailings impoundment filling, and 8 acres were disturbed as a result of topsoil salvage and piling activates.
A site map of the Henderson Mine indicating affected land boundary and disturbance areas is included in
Appendix A.
2.2 Interim Reclamation
Interim stabilization efforts included the salvage of 271,000 cubic yards of topsoil/growth media from
inundation areas along the upstream side of the tailing impoundment. The material was placed in the
north stockpile, which is situated on the northern end of the impoundment.
Routine maintenance of erosion and sediment control structures was carried out in 2011.
2.3 Other Activities
2.3.1— Weed Control
EcoRx, Henderson Mill's contractor for weed management, treated 263 acres at the Henderson Mill site.
The primary focus of EcoRx's efforts consistently relate to areas of disturbance (typically surrounding the
topsoil stockpiling efforts), thus ensuring that fledgling growth is mitigated and made increasingly more
manageable. Areas which were previously logged in the non - industrial sections of the Henderson
property were also a center of focus primarily for various species of thistle.
Page 2
